Sometimes it feels like doctors threw a bowl of alphabet soup at your child and just diagnosed them with whatever stuck.  In some cases these labels don't exactly fit all of their symptoms, and you may feel that there is more that you can do to help them.  Your are right!  Most of these disorders are complex and multifactorial.  There are many treatment options and interventions that you can use to significantly improve the life of your child.

I hope that this site proves to be a helpful resource in fixing your

alphabet soup kid.

This is my bucket of water for you...

My Mission:

I created this site to help parents navigate through the confusing world of their child’s mental health diagnosis.  This is a parent's guide to raising a child with challenging behaviors, ADHD, OCD, ASD, SPD, Anxiety, PANDAS, or Tourette's.  My goal is to share knowledge and give you tools to improve the life of your child and save your sanity along the way.

You know the old cliché, “Kids don’t come with an instruction manual.” Well, I needed one desperately.  I spent hours researching the diagnosis, treatments, alternative treatments, supplements, and behavior interventions.  The whole time I was wishing that someone would compile the information and make it all easier.

Who am I:

After receiving a Master’s degree in Special Education, I spent 7 years as an Emotional Support teacher for Albuquerque Public Schools.  I took a few years off to have my 2 beautiful boys before returning to the workforce as a Licensed Behavior Specialist Consultant specializing in children with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

*I have created links throughout the site to a few books that I have found helpful.  The if you make purchases through these links, Fixing Alphabet soup will make a small commission that will go towards keeping this site running.   Thank you!
